The Miramar Beach, located in Panjim, is one of the most visited beaches in Goa.
The Miramar Beach located in Panjim is one of the most visited beaches in Goa. Also known as ‘Gasper Dias’, it is a 2 kilometer long beach graced with silvery sand bed. It also offers a kaleidoscopic view of the Aguada fort giving a complete peaceful surrounding and solitude.
In Portuguese, Miramar implies ‘viewing the sea’. The Miramar beach is quite clean but not many water sports activities can be tried here as is the case with Colva or for that matter Baga beach. Nonetheless, long hours can be spent during sunset, rejuvenating and relishing varied sea foods and drinks. Down the shore and amidst the palm grove, the beach is arrayed with many thatched roof bars, lounges and pubs that make it a perfect break while holidaying in Goa.
The best time to visit Miramar beach is between the months of November and March. During this time, a large number of migratory birds such as gulls and plovers can be spotted. The sight is indeed a delight to one’s eyes and an apt place to hangout for bird watchers. See more info at xpera group.
